PREMIÈRE POPCORN
A gathering of Zwerm, Mr. Probe, Mattijs Vanderleen (Tommigun, Sunday Bell Ringers) on drums and singer Gregory Frateur (Dez Mona, Daan) combining the best of a rockband and a contemporary music ensemble.
The concept is clear and easy: the players selected six popsongs that they always wanted to play (but never dared to ask for…). Peter Vermeersch (X-legged Sally, the Flat Earth Society) arranged them for the band and finally six composers were asked to write a new piece inspired by one of the songs.
Popsongs by The Cardiacs, Tom Waits, Bjork, Daan, Jimi Hendrix, Nick Cave and Cindy Lauper.
Compositions by Peter Vermeersch, Serge Verstockt, Luc Houtkamp, Yannis Kyriakides, Bruno Nelissen, Stefan van Eijcken, Daan Janssens and Stefan Prins.
